Important: This guide is organized such that by following the table of contents in order, you will be guided step-by-step through the installation and configuration process. It is highly recommended to follow the guide as such.
For a birds-eye view of the process of installing the Keyfactor AnyCA Gateway REST, before beginning, review the following steps.
- Review the steps that need to be taken prior to the AnyCAGateway REST installation to install, create, and gather the necessary information and prerequisites to complete the gateway installation and configuration prior to starting an installation (see Preparing).
- Install the Gateway (see Install AnyCAGateway REST on Windows under IIS or Install AnyCAGateway REST in Containers Under Kubernetes). For installations on Windows, the AnyCAGateway REST uses the AnyCAGatewayInstall.ps1 PowerShell script, which takes several command line parameters, to install the AnyCA Gateway. For installations in containers under Kubernetes, parameters are provided in a values file. The database is created as part of the installation process using the installation parameters provided.
- Configure the AnyCAPlugin type for your third-party CA
A certificate authority (CA) is an entity that issues digital certificates. Within Keyfactor Command, a CA may be a Microsoft CA or a Keyfactor gateway to a cloud-based or remote CA. (see Configure the AnyCAPlugin). - Create the CA, the certificate profiles for template A certificate template defines the policies and rules that a CA uses when a request for a certificate is received. mapping, and the security claims on the AnyCAGateway REST portal (see The AnyCAGateway REST Portal).
- Add and configure the CA and import templates in Keyfactor Command (see Working with the AnyCAGateway REST and Keyfactor Command).
- Enroll with the AnyCAGateway REST through Keyfactor Command (see Certificate Enrollment in Keyfactor Command).
