Licensing

In the Licensing section of the Management Portal you can view the details of your existing license and replace it with a new license, if desired.

To view your existing license, browse to System Settings Icon > Licensing. The license shows you the features that are enabled for your Keyfactor Command implementation, how many CAClosed A certificate authority (CA) is an entity that issues digital certificates. Within Keyfactor Command, a CA may be a Microsoft CA or a Keyfactor gateway to a cloud-based or remote CA. sources you're licensed to synchronize, how many certificate stores you’re licensed to manage, how many expiration alerts you’re licensed to configure, and how many Mac enrollmentClosed Certificate enrollment refers to the process by which a user requests a digital certificate. The user must submit the request to a certificate authority (CA). agents you’re licensed to use. If you configure more CA sources than you're licensed to synchronize, only the number you're licensed for will actually synchronize. You will not be allowed to configure more certificate store locations or expiration alerts than you are licensed to create.

As your license is approaching expiration, you will see an alert appear on the alerts tab of the Management Portal (see System Alerts) and warnings will also be written to the Windows event log on the server running the Keyfactor Command service 60 days, 30 days and 5 days in advance of the license expiration (or at the next start of the Keyfactor Command service that falls within these time periods) using event ID 1001.

If you purchase a new license from Keyfactor that enables additional features, extends the number of sources, or extends the expiration date, you can upload it on the Licensing page. To do this:

  1. In the Management Portal, browse to System Settings Icon > Licensing.
  2. On the Licensing page, click Replace . The Confirm Operation dialog box will open.
  3. Click OK to open the dialog to upload a new license.

  4. Click the Browse button and browse to the location on the file system where the new license file provided by Keyfactor is stored.
  5. The new license will appear next to the existing license. Compare them to confirm that you wish to install the new license and then click the Save to button to complete the license change.

  6. On the Keyfactor Command server, restart the IIS services (iisreset) and refresh the browser.
