Workflow

The WorkflowClosed A workflow is a series of steps necessary to complete a process. In Keyfactor Command, it refers to the workflow builder, which allows you to automate event-driven tasks such as when a certificate is requested, revoked or found in a certificate store. section of the Management Portal provides access to tools for defining, managing, and interacting with workflows that automate certificate-related processes and respond to system events.

The following options are available:

  • Workflow Definitions

Create and manage workflow definitions that determine how specific actions are handled when a workflow is initiated. Workflow definitions define configuration, keys, and behavior, while workflow steps define the actions performed as the workflow executes. Workflow instances are initiated by events such as user actions, automated system processes, or scheduled monitoring tasks.

  • Workflow Instances

View and manage workflow instances that have been initiated. This includes active workflows, workflows that are waiting for user input, and completed workflows. From this page, you can review the steps executed for a specific instance, restart failed instances, or remove instances as needed. The steps shown for an instance may differ from the current configuration of the workflow definition.

  • My Workflows

View workflow instances that require your attention or were initiated by you. From this page, you can take actions such as approving or denying requests and track the progress of workflows relevant to your role.
