System Requirements

The system requirements for the Keyfactor Windows Enrollment Certificate enrollment refers to the process by which a user requests a digital certificate. The user must submit the request to a certificate authority (CA). Gateway server are:

• Windows Server 2016, Windows Server 2019, or Windows Server 2022

• Ability to connect to a SQL Server (2016 or newer)

• Active Directory domain joined
• Minimum of 2 GB RAM
• Minimum of one 2 GHz CPU
• Minimum of 20 GB disk space

• Remote Server Administration Tools

  The gateway has a dependency on select Remote Server Administration Tools Windows features for complete functionality. See Add Remote Server Administration Tools for more information.

• .NET Framework 4.7.2 or greater

  .NET is a standard Windows feature added through the Windows Server Manager tool. It can be updated to .NET 4.7.2 or greater with a downloadable update package or through Windows update.

Verify .NET Version

To verify the version of .NET installed:

1. Open the Registry Editor:

   regedit

2. Navigate to:

   HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\NET Framework Setup\NDP\v4\Full

3. Validate that the Release attribute value indicates a version of .NET Framework that is 4.7.2 or higher is installed, as shown in Table 1038: .NET Framework Release Values.

Or:

1. Open a command prompt or PowerShell window and type the following command:

   reg query "HKLM\Software\Microsoft\NET Framework Setup\NDP\v4\Full"

2. Validate that the Release attribute value indicates a version of .NET Framework that is 4.7.2 or higher is installed, as shown in Table 1038: .NET Framework Release Values.

Additional Requirements

The gateway also requires:

• A Keyfactor-managed instance of Keyfactor Command version 10.2 or higher
• A Keyfactor-managed EJBCA CA A certificate authority (CA) is an entity that issues digital certificates. Within Keyfactor Command, a CA may be a Microsoft CA or a Keyfactor gateway to a cloud-based or remote CA. version 7.10 or greater
