Trust Bundles

Trust bundles are administrator-defined collections of trusted root certificates. These bundles serve as the authoritative trust anchors used during chain building. When a certificate is downloaded and its chain is constructed, Keyfactor Command first attempts to build the chain using only the root certificates defined in these trust bundles.

If chain building cannot be completed using the configured trust bundles (for example, no trust bundles are defined, the bundles contain no certificates, or the needed root is not present), the system falls back to using trusted root stores or AIAClosed The authority information access (AIA) is included in a certificate--if configured--and identifies a location from which the chain certificates for that certificate may be retrieved. retrieval.
